Verbatim Americas, LLC is a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation (MCHC), the largest chemical company in Japan, with more than 60 years experience developing lighting materials technology (Visit Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation). So, technically we’re not new to the business – we’re just bringing our strong background in lighting technology to market under the Verbatim brand. We are using Verbatim’s global distribution, marketing and sales network to bring a high-quality range of LED and OLED products to market this year.

For over 40 years, the Verbatim brand has been recognized for its role in data storage technology. Our products include a range of removable storage and computer peripherals, featuring CD, DVD and Blu-ray media products, which utilize MCHC's technology. Having made our mark on the storage business, we have expanded our product offering and are bringing a better lighting experience to the world. We have introduced a range of retrofit LED bulbs that will be joined by OLED panel availability later this year. These products are initially focused on the B-to-B channel, where return on investment and improved light quality are key drivers for ongoing conversion to solid-state lighting (SSL).

We have many future developments aimed at the commercial user, including higher color rendering (CRI) and tunable color temperature products. These products are under development at our research centers.
